The Three Affirmations You Wish You Knew Yesterday

Did you have a bad experience yesterday that may taint every moment moving forward?  We all have those days where we feel like our worlds have been turned upside down.  

It is easy to allow negative thoughts to get the best of you. It's easy to make the (rather hasty) decision that every day will be a bad day from here on out because yesterday did not go as planned.  It's important to find ways to move past these negative experiences, no matter how big, small, or life altering they may have been. Every day is a chance to overcome a negative experience.

Finding Ways to Push Through the Negativity

Yesterday was a bad day, and perhaps the day before, and the day before that.  Does that mean that today and tomorrow need to be awful, too?  You're probably thinking that things will just continue in this fashion until something good "decides" to happen.  

Why should you wait for something good to happen?  Why not make it happen for yourself?  Something good starts with a change in attitude.  Instead of allowing yesterday's bad day to overrule your thoughts, why not push back, and decide for yourself how things are going to go?

Overcoming a Negative Experience Through Positive Thought

What you need to interject into your life when you get caught in a negative cycle is positive thoughts.  Positive thoughts are a lot easier to fit into your life than you may think. Sometimes all you need is a positive thought to push out the negative one, many people call these positive affirmations.  

Positive affirmations can help you change your life.  In fact, if you had had even just three affirmations in your mind yesterday when that negative experience arose, you may have been able to overcome it and walk away without letting life get you down!  It isn't too late!  Here are three affirmations that you wish you knew yesterday but you can take with you today:

  • I can face disappointment positively

  • I am worthy of being a happy and satisfied person

  • Failure makes me stronger

These are simple statements that you can use to empower positive thinking in your life.  While you didn't have them yesterday, you have them now, so when negative thoughts are threatening to take over and turn all of your days from bright and sunny, to gloomy and unsatisfying, simply say these statements out loud to yourself.

When you repeat affirmations throughout your day, you are reaffirming positive thoughts instead of negative thoughts.  You are giving yourself permission to change your life and your outlook on the world.  The result is a happier, more positive, more satisfying life.  It seems too easy, but it really does work.  The more you reaffirm the more you will benefit!
