Living a Prioritized Life is Easier than it Looks

Author: Ronnie Nijmeh, ACQYR.com

Have you ever have someone tell you: "You need to get your priorities straight!"?  This is something that no one wants to hear because it means that somewhere along the path, we have gone wrong or let someone down.

It can be hard to juggle all of the different priorities that represent the responsibilities in your life without dropping them, but it is possible when you prioritize.  If prioritizing doesn't come naturally to you, you may want to look into FAST prioritizing as well as the use of prioritization affirmations to help you stay on task.

All About Fast Prioritizing

FAST prioritizing is something that goes hand in hand with positive affirmations because they are both very straight forward and meant to help you keep a more scheduled and balanced life.  FAST prioritizing may work for you and it's worth learning more about to see if it can be of use to you.  FAST is actually an acronym, which will make it easy to remember and perhaps the meaning behind FAST could become a part of your positive affirmation routine (What are Affirmations? Learn more...)

F is for focus.  When you cannot focus on the tasks at hand you become a lot less predictable, a lot less responsive, and of course a lot less productive.  Learning how to focus is critical to prioritization.  Your positive affirmations for focus could be something as easy as: "When I am focused, my course becomes clearer."  This will remind you to stay focused in the moment and disallow a wondering mind.

A is for agreement.  Each item you put on your to-do list must be in agreement with your overall goals, skills, beliefs, and talents. If you are working on things you hate, or your skills are going untapped, how can you possibly be motivated to get things done? Make sure your daily tasks are inline with your values and skill set. A positive affirmation to help you with this is: "My work is representative of my skills, talents, values, and goals. When everything is aligned, my success soars!"

S is for schedule.  Creating a schedule is just as important as sticking to it! Unfortunately, those who struggle with prioritizing their tasks often struggle with effectively implementing their schedules! The FAST system in addition to positive affirmations can help you learn how to create a schedule and stick to it.  When you create a schedule and you have a system to keep you focused and on track, it'll be much easier to prioritize the things in your life and stick with it! A positive affirmation for scheduling might be: "When I set a schedule, I choose to follow through because I value and respect my own time."

T is for track.  When you go about the FAST system and you use the power of positive affirmations, you should track your progress. Everyone needs positive reinforcement and when you track your progress and see yourself staying on task, you'll be motivated to continue to do so moving forward. Plus, you will find that you're able to adjust your plans as needed so you can get things done much more efficiently.  Either way, you'll know where you stand and you'll feel good about the process that you are making.  A positive affirmation to help you track your progress and build momentum is: "I build momentum by staying on task."

Using the FAST system in conjunction with positive affirmations will allow you to enhance your life and start taking care of all your priorities easily and consistently.
