Do you need tips for stress management to help you cope with day to day annoyances? Check out these stress management tips to handle the frustrations and annoyances of everyday life, no matter what situation you find yourself in.
There are many situations that can cause you stress throughout your day, but you don't have to let these situations affect you. Instead, use these stress management tips to handle common situations that wear on you, so you can have a happier, more relaxed day.
4 Ways to Make Your Day Go More Smoothly, While Getting More Done:
- None of us like to wait in long lines - the mere thought of having to stand in line, waiting to get something done can cause us to tense up. Try this stress management tip: next time you are in a long line, try taking a coin out of your pocket and rubbing your thumb back and forth on it. Stimulating the nerves in your thumb releases endorphins that help you to relax, and you will find the wait much less frustrating.
- If you're in a meeting or working at the office, and that certain coworker is annoying you, here is another stress management tip that will help: Talk it out with your coworker. Sounds stupidly simple, doesn't it? Well maybe he or she doesn't understand how much work you have to do, or what you are trying to accomplish. Don't be afraid to speak up and tell your coworker what's going on - he or she will never know unless you speak your mind.
- When you're feeling overwhelmed, stop. Stop and organize your priorities, then simply pick one task and get started on it. Set aside all of the other tasks you have on your to-do list and focus all of your energy on what's truly important. Start with a simple task that you can accomplish quickly and build momentum. Once you have completed this, physically cross it off your list. The simple act of crossing out action items will help you feel less stressed. Why? Because you'll be actively showing yourself that you're making progress.
- Sometimes you may feel like you're stretched out in too many directions. One of the best tips for stress management in this situation is to set aside 10 or 15 minutes each morning as "quiet time." Whether you meditate, take a short walk, or just sit for the 15 minutes, it will give you the chance to empty your mind for a short time, and you will be able to address your tasks, one-by-one, with greater energy and focus.
Give some of these tips for stress management a good ol' college try, and you just might find that you accomplish more, feel better, and have more energy left to enjoy your time at the end of the day.
