When I do the things I love I am made stronger and in this way I am free to do what I choose.
I am a strong person with a fervent passion. When I act on what I love to do, I am free. I can accomplish what I desire and feel powerful. I am confident that what I choose to do in my life is right for me. It does not matter if I am doing what everyone else is doing because I am not seeking to win a popularity contest.
I know that sometimes other people think I should do something else, but their words do not sway me. Others are free to give their opinion just as I am free to live my dream. While I listen respectfully to others, I know what is right for me and I am empowered when I act on this.
I have the strength to express myself and my feelings in a healthy way. I can express my desire to do things differently. I will be strong and do things that feel good to me even if it is not popular.
Today I will put myself first and do what I love to do. I am strong and I am powerful. I control my own thoughts and actions. No one can take that away from me.
I am true to myself and love myself enough to do what I want to do.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- Have I been true to myself today?
- How have I put myself first?
- How can I be respectful to others while still respecting my own desires?

I am proud to reach out to others, rather than relying on food for comfort, because I know this is sign that I am growing and maturing. I am not ashamed that I need comfort at times and I am a healthier person because I have learned how to ask for help.
I am learning to tune into my feelings so I can view them as a source of life and creativity. I do not run from my feelings or hide behind food. While facing my feelings head on is difficult, I am proud of myself that I have embraced this challenge.
My need for support in the process of losing weight is not a weakness. Nearly every great endeavor in life requires a team of some sort. Why should my weight loss be any different?
When I ask for help, I show that I am grounded in reality. I am no longer hiding behind food and I am proud of this fact.
I will not expect others to look down on me for my struggles. No one is perfect! Everyone has their own set of challenges. When I am open to sharing my own challenges with others, I create a pathway that allows them to share their struggles with me. In this way, we all benefit.
Reaching beyond food and opening myself up to people rewards me, not only in my appearance, but even more importantly in the ever-deepening relationships I am developing with those who care about me.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- In what circumstances do I tend to hide behind food?
- Do I avoid opening up to people when I am in need?
- Who could I approach the next time I need support in my weight loss efforts?

I am passionate about fulfilling my life purpose. I am a unique person with a special set of skills. There is no one else who has the exact combination of talents and experiences that I have. This powerful knowledge invigorates me.
Reflection has helped me identify my unique life purpose. I have listened to my heart and been honest about the goals I have for myself.
Because I have an exceptional life purpose, I approach the world with enthusiasm. I look for ways to expand my abilities and to share my gift with others.
Only I can reveal my life purpose. At first it may feel unnerving to expose my hopes and dreams. I may be frightened that I will receive criticism or that I might fail. But I will not hide my life’s purpose. I am passionate about living truthfully.
I remind myself that my desires are not fragile. My life purpose is a sleeping tiger that only I can awaken. It is a strong core that gives me excitement and energy. It allows me to approach life with vivacity.
I am passionate and purposeful. There is no one else in the world who can experience my life nor fulfill my life purpose, so I choose to honor my Creator and myself. I cherish my life purpose, and I seek ways to achieve fulfillment.
I awaken the tiger within me. I am empowered, and I feel alive and strong. With determination, I bring my life purpose to fruition.

I recognize my talents and abilities and know that I am strong and competent. There is nothing that I cannot do. I can conquer my fear of the unknown and I am on a path of no resistance.
My strength is what gets me through each day and helps me to be self confident in who I am. I have no reason to doubt that I can do anything I set my mind to do.
The sky is the limit for me. I hold high expectations for myself and there is nothing that will stop me from succeeding. It is because I am so strong that I can meet any challenges that life throws my way.
I am able to handle anything because I also know that challenges are only temporary. I know that the attitude and perspective that I take when issues arise is what gets me through them. It makes me even stronger.
Life has so many punches, but I am determined to fight back with all my might. I will not lie on the ground of defeat. This is not the way I see things. I will continue to fight until I see a breakthrough.
I aim to use my strength, competence, knowledge and endurance to make it possible. I am responsible for making things happen. Mentally and physically, I am strong enough to win in this game of life.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- How can I be stronger?
- What gives me the most strength?
- How can I use my strength and competence to help others?

Silence is rewarding, so I indulge it as often as I can. I do not feel the need to have a constant swirl of noise around me. I do not need to have the television on constantly. I do not need the radio while I’m driving. I have no obligation to answer my phone when it rings.
Allowing myself to be still calms my heart rate and my blood pressure, leading to greater health and longevity. I am rewarded by better and deeper sleep. Lower levels of adrenaline keep me from responding in hair-trigger fashion to crises. I indulge in silence because it is good for my body.
Silence is also important for my mind, allowing me to absorb and retain the important information I have recently learned, rather than allowing it to be dissipated in the chaos around me.
Perhaps most importantly, silence nourishes my spirit. My thoughts and feelings are at the center of my creative self. When I afford myself silence, I increase my own creativity.
I actively seek out peaceful silence. When I walk, I allow myself to tune into the lessons of nature. When I am working, I prefer silence over the static of canned voices. When I am with friends and family, I do not feel obligated to fill up space with empty chatter.
I do not treat silence as an intruder, but as a friend that I welcome with open arms, knowing that he comes with my best interests at heart.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- What function does noise play in my life?
- What sources of noise in my life could be silenced?
- Do I treat silence as a friend or as an adversary?
