I view the faults of others as training wheels for endurance and strength. I do not allow myself to be swayed by minor setbacks or frivolous details. It is through the acceptance of others that I gain oh-so-much. I am able to reveal who I truly am and all that is wonderful in me. And, equally important, I am able to see who they are and what they can become.

I also understand that by accepting others' shortcomings, I am exercising the underutilized art of compassion. Compassion is a powerful sentiment. I am filled with it, and I try to pass it along like a contagious smile. It is a beautiful emotion to own and feel. I carry it around with me wherever I go, and my desire is to paint everyone's faults with its colors of caring, kindness, and warmth.

We all have these glorious faults that are there to teach us about our capabilities and our inner selves. They build character and give us patience, tolerance, and empathy. And I savor every opportunity to learn from them and share my strength and knowledge with as many individuals as possible. By my acceptance of other people's mistakes and imperfections, I show love for them as well as myself.

My faults do not control me, nor do they define me. They are my stepping-stones to an improved me, and they remind me of the level of my potential. Without my faults, I would not have any measure of how far I have come. They are the reasons for my renewed passion and ultimate success.

I do not consider my faults as hindrances or setbacks. My faults allow me to discover my true talents by prodding me to keep moving and striving for the best. They are the little agitators that tickle my brain to seek out change.

The greatest part about my faults is that they keep me grounded. If I am deemed as "perfect," then how can I ever develop further? Without them, what kinds of things would I have to look forward to? How will I ever know what I could really accomplish?

What a relief it is to know that my faults are temporary. With some time and a little bit of work, I can alter them, fix them, or delete them entirely. How I choose to treat them is entirely within my control. I remain in charge of my faults, and I consistently utilize them to challenge me to do more, be more, and want more.
