I no longer need to be frightened.

I am confident about who I am because I no longer need to be frightened. Instead, my pursuit of self-discovery has allowed me to receive the light of who I am. Fear is only a crippling result of being in the dark and I intend to live in the light.

I watch children as they live with so much innocence and trust that every day is the same - happy and full of fun. I live my life just the same because I know that problems are only meant to find solutions and not to cause worry.

The light of who I am teaches me how to walk without fear. I know that the journey of my life is only to mold me into a better person so that I can be a light to others. I am on this path of light because I will not allow darkness to cover me.

There are two worlds that exist: light and darkness, and I choose light because I am a reflection of light and I cannot exist in darkness.

I see the world as an environment to shine my light so that, through me, others can discover who they really are. I continue this journey with purpose knowing that, when I approach a road block, I can either get out of my comfort zone and move the obstacles or... stand frozen in fear.

I choose to get out and move forward because there are people waiting for me on the other side who need my light to see through the darkness.

I am fully capable of achieving my heart’s desires. Roadblocks will never stop me.

Roadblocks will never stop me. They are simply an indicator that I need to take a new path to achieve my goal.

My desires are given to me by my Creator, who made me with a unique set of hopes and dreams for a reason. If I wish to reach my deepest dreams, I must be willing to go further than ever before. If I wait for success to be handed to me, I am likely to finish life empty-handed.

Every life is always under construction, therefore, roadblocks and detours are virtually inevitable.

I can choose to be frustrated with the barriers ahead of me. I can choose to succumb to fear that I won't be able to find my way back.

Or I can accept what I cannot change, follow the signs, and enjoy the scenery. True, the route may be longer than the one I had intended to take. But it could lead me to opportunities and relationships that I would have missed out on otherwise.

I have a responsibility to follow the dreams that my Creator has given me. If I drop out because of difficulties, I deprive myself and those around me of my full potential. If I stop, I run the risk of becoming a roadblock to someone else.

I owe it to myself and to others to keep pressing on toward my dreams and desires, even when doing so involves an unexpected detour.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. What is my heart's desire?
  2. What roadblocks have I allowed to prevent me from pursuing this desire?
  3. What is one step I will take today to start any necessary detours?
