Impulsive thoughts cannot be found in my mind.

Impulsive thoughts cannot be found in my mind because I am calm and in control. I keep everything in clear perspective, and I constantly practice balance throughout my personal and professional life. I also make it a point to handle all activities to the best of my abilities.

In my view, impulsive behavior equates to excessive behavior, so I am not an overindulgent, extreme, or wasteful person. I honor my Creator, personal relationships, the environment, and myself by not engaging in reckless, irresponsible conduct. I exercise good judgment, and I am rewarded by utter happiness and a state of tranquility.

Impulsive thoughts can become mischievous and destructive influences in my relatively non-chaotic world. They demonstrate a childish quality and reduce my ability to maintain control, organization, and focus. Yet, impulsive thoughts will not drive me to do what is contrary to my nature.

I am a mature and well-grounded person, such thought processes do not appeal to my desires. My brain registers them as that troublesome child in the classroom. They are disruptive to my productivity. And it's my goal to keep an orderly classroom. With order, comes serenity and ultimate power.

I engineer my thoughts to center on the positive, to seek out peace, and adopt harmony into my mind and spirit. Impulsive thoughts would only serve to upset the sense of balance I have worked diligently to establish for myself. I am in charge of my choices, and I possess the skills and determination to filter out the less productive aspects of my world, while engaging in thought-provoking beneficial activities.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. Do I have any impulsive thoughts that could hinder my productivity?
  2. How will I prevent impulsive thoughts from entering my mind?
  3. What will I do to overcome the impulsive thoughts that already inhabit my mind?

The warm hug that I received from a friend, the generous bonus I was given at work, the new home that I was able to purchase, and warm days at the beach are just some of the precious moments that I am thankful for. I make it a habit to keep gratitude on my lips and praise in my heart. It's these irreplaceable and invaluable experiences that make my life what it is.

I am even more grateful for the gift of prayer. It is my communication line with the Almighty, and without it, I would be lost. Prayer is available to me for giving honor, saying thanks, for talking about the circumstances that are happening in my life, to ask for assistance, to express my heart's desire, and also to just be heard. How awesome it is to have such an amazing gift - just for me!

Living a life of prayer and thankfulness trains me to become a greater human being. For every wrong, misconception, or mistake that's made in the world, I can counter it with a pleasing remembrance.
