I take one hour each weekend to allow relaxation to flow like a river through my body.

I take time out each weekend to do something I enjoy. The goal of this time is simply relaxation. I let go of the idea that every activity has to have a higher purpose.

I also get rid of the idea that someone else can better tell me how to spend my time. This is my time, and I am the only person qualified to tell me how it should be spent. I know myself best and trust myself to choose an activity that is regenerating to me. Whether others understand the appeal or value of my choice is unimportant.

I relax by doing things I enjoy and engage in it whole-heartedly. I indulge in it for at least an hour, without guilt, knowing that in doing so, I am bringing out my best self.

Indulging my interests routinely leads to lower stress levels, which improve my sleep and my health. These, in turn, increase my productivity.

Pursuing my interests also opens up my creative centers, allowing me to access parts of myself that need peace and rest to blossom. I become a better person when I entertain my passions.

Taking time out for myself also releases calming endorphins, which make me more relaxed, more pleasant, and more focused. Not only do I benefit from this time, but so do those who surround me.

Each weekend, I take time out to nourish myself, without guilt, so that I can continue to be my own best self.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. What excuses do I give for not taking the time I need to nourish myself?
  2. What activities do find most refreshing?
  3. What can I do today to ensure an hour for my own relaxation this weekend?

I am passionate about my goals.

I know that I was created for a specific purpose and I am responsible for making it into a reality. This makes me so passionate and confident about my goals and I trust in my ability to get them done.

My passion and purpose are my driving force to follow the path that is ahead of me. I am a trailblazer and no one can stop me unless I choose to stop myself.

There is no time to entertain delay. I have to forge forward in order to complete the goals and assignments that I have chosen.

I know I can do this because I am equipped for success. Plus, I surround myself with like-minded positive influences who give me encouragement to persist. I know there will be challenges, but my passion propels me past them, and I am determined to see it through to the very end.

I am on a mission to make a difference because, after I am gone, the goals that I accomplish will affect generations to come.

I am truly dedicated because I know with great certainty, that I can - and will - make a difference in the lives of those around me. The sky is the limit of what I can do and my aim is to conquer any challenge that may appear, and forge on, stronger than ever.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. What can I do to make things better?
  2. How can I get other people to help?
  3. How can I manage my time more?

I allow new expressions of love in my heart without hard feelings.

I allow new expressions of love in my life without hard feelings because my relationships are fluid and constantly evolving.

I know that personal growth involves change and that one member of a relationship cannot change without affecting the other. And I see this as a good thing.

I cannot hang onto the status quo simply because it is predictable. Instead, I must keep myself open to the new shape of my relationships and trust that our love will flourish as we continue to grow.

Some who needed me in the past may not need me as much now. This is good! This is a sign of growth. I am open to this growth and will not try to keep those I love dependent on me, so that I can continue to receive the expressions of love that I have been used to.

I will trust that growing people are happy people, that happy people are loving people, and that the love I gave will come back to me twenty-fold.

I think of a child, bringing me dandelions. If she brought them to me as a teenager, would they even mean the same thing? What about as an adult?

I may miss the toddler with the fistful of sunny weeds, but would I really want to keep her so young and so helpless? No! I must allow her to move on into something deeper, something more complex.

The same is true in all my relationships. I give myself permission to let go of one form of love so that I am able to receive a newer and better expression of that love.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. How have my relationships changed over time?
  2. What benefits have I received because of my willing to let others grow and change?
  3. Am I hanging onto an expression of love in my life that would be better turned loose?

I am fully capable of achieving my heart’s desires. Roadblocks will never stop me.

Roadblocks will never stop me. They are simply an indicator that I need to take a new path to achieve my goal.

My desires are given to me by my Creator, who made me with a unique set of hopes and dreams for a reason. If I wish to reach my deepest dreams, I must be willing to go further than ever before. If I wait for success to be handed to me, I am likely to finish life empty-handed.

Every life is always under construction, therefore, roadblocks and detours are virtually inevitable.

I can choose to be frustrated with the barriers ahead of me. I can choose to succumb to fear that I won't be able to find my way back.

Or I can accept what I cannot change, follow the signs, and enjoy the scenery. True, the route may be longer than the one I had intended to take. But it could lead me to opportunities and relationships that I would have missed out on otherwise.

I have a responsibility to follow the dreams that my Creator has given me. If I drop out because of difficulties, I deprive myself and those around me of my full potential. If I stop, I run the risk of becoming a roadblock to someone else.

I owe it to myself and to others to keep pressing on toward my dreams and desires, even when doing so involves an unexpected detour.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. What is my heart's desire?
  2. What roadblocks have I allowed to prevent me from pursuing this desire?
  3. What is one step I will take today to start any necessary detours?
