Famous Failures Video

When we look at famous people, we focus so much on their accomplishments that we forget about their journey. The people who have succeeded in their fields and made history are fallible humans, just like us. Yet they decided to forge on, even when rejections are piling up, because their human spirit would not quit. Eventually we see them standing on pedestals, or awarded with a medal, and applauded the world over.

This video is the other half of the picture that we did not see, and sometimes, this is what really matters. It's truth and reality - we all fail! But it isn't failure that entraps us, it's the fear of it that truly holds us hostage.

Key Points from this Inspirational Video:

  • If you've never failed, you've never lived.
  • Life = risk

Overall Rating (1-5): 5

Entertainment Rating (1-5): 5
The video is very entertaining-perfect for uplifting people's spirits.

Instructional Rating (1-5): 5
The words were used sparingly but very effectively and the main point of the stories made a greater impact at the end.

Sincere thanks and appreciation goes out to Lailani Mendoza for this in-depth inspirational video review!

I am fully capable of achieving my heart’s desires. Roadblocks will never stop me.

Roadblocks will never stop me. They are simply an indicator that I need to take a new path to achieve my goal.

My desires are given to me by my Creator, who made me with a unique set of hopes and dreams for a reason. If I wish to reach my deepest dreams, I must be willing to go further than ever before. If I wait for success to be handed to me, I am likely to finish life empty-handed.

Every life is always under construction, therefore, roadblocks and detours are virtually inevitable.

I can choose to be frustrated with the barriers ahead of me. I can choose to succumb to fear that I won't be able to find my way back.

Or I can accept what I cannot change, follow the signs, and enjoy the scenery. True, the route may be longer than the one I had intended to take. But it could lead me to opportunities and relationships that I would have missed out on otherwise.

I have a responsibility to follow the dreams that my Creator has given me. If I drop out because of difficulties, I deprive myself and those around me of my full potential. If I stop, I run the risk of becoming a roadblock to someone else.

I owe it to myself and to others to keep pressing on toward my dreams and desires, even when doing so involves an unexpected detour.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. What is my heart's desire?
  2. What roadblocks have I allowed to prevent me from pursuing this desire?
  3. What is one step I will take today to start any necessary detours?

I can accept uncertainty when it comes.

I can accept uncertainty when it comes because uncertainty is inevitable.

I can try to resist it by sticking to strict routines and avoiding exploration of new situations, new people, new ideas. But if I resist uncertainty, I will never take chances. If I never take chances, I will never know what I can achieve.

I can accept uncertainty because I know that I never have to face more than what is right in front of me. I do not have to face next week or next year. I do not even have to face tomorrow. I simply have to face this moment.

I open myself up to the possibilities that come along with uncertainty. Life is not meant to be a fixed course, driven in circles, with my gazed fixed only on the bumper ahead of me. Life is a hike through the mountains, with any number of possible trails, some more challenging than others, but all of them beautiful in their own way.

If the path I expected to take is suddenly obstructed, I will take another. And if that one becomes blocked, I will take yet another. I trust myself to put one foot in front of the other.

If I get lost for awhile, I will keep walking, certain that, in time, I will find my way. Perhaps I will end up on the same path from which I started. Perhaps I will end up somewhere entirely new.

Either way, I will continue to explore, to keep myself open to possibilities that could lie just around the next bend.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. What have I avoided doing because of the risk of uncertainty involved?
  2. What have I wanted to try but avoided doing because of uncertainty?
  3. What is a small step I will take today to begin exploring this possibility?
