I am passionate about my life purpose.

I am passionate about fulfilling my life purpose. I am a unique person with a special set of skills. There is no one else who has the exact combination of talents and experiences that I have. This powerful knowledge invigorates me.

Reflection has helped me identify my unique life purpose. I have listened to my heart and been honest about the goals I have for myself.

Because I have an exceptional life purpose, I approach the world with enthusiasm. I look for ways to expand my abilities and to share my gift with others.

Only I can reveal my life purpose. At first it may feel unnerving to expose my hopes and dreams. I may be frightened that I will receive criticism or that I might fail. But I will not hide my life’s purpose. I am passionate about living truthfully.

I remind myself that my desires are not fragile. My life purpose is a sleeping tiger that only I can awaken. It is a strong core that gives me excitement and energy. It allows me to approach life with vivacity.

I exercise both my body and mind.

I honor myself by exercising my physical body and by stretching my mind.

I take care of my body by exercising regularly, because of this I am healthy and strong. I take the time to stretch my mind by learning, praying, and meditating. When I open my mind to new ideas and expressive thought I am building a better me.

When I take time to exercise both my body and mind, I am honoring my Creator by taking care of the wonderful gift of life. Life is an incredible gift. And I deserve to respect this gift, because I am worth it.

Whether I am running on a treadmill at the gym or in a swimming class, when I exercise my body I am acknowledging that I respect myself. Reading books, taking classes, praying, and meditating are ways that I expand and exercise my mind. I am whole and I feel good when I exercise.

Exercising my body and my mind allows me to unite with my Creator in a connected way. My body and my mind are of equal importance and honoring this gift helps me to grow and become a more centered being. When I run, I am free. When I learn, I am lifted. When I honor my wholeness of mind and body, I am at peace.

Today I will respect and honor myself by exercising my body and my mind because this is how I can show myself love.

My past is only a benchmark for my present and future progression.

My past is only a benchmark for my present and future progression. Where I started does not dictate where I will end up. It is only a starting point, from which I launch into better things.

I am not defined by my past, but I do not allow myself to forget it either because it reminds me of how far I have come.

I compare myself only to me, gauging progress from where I began. I do not compare myself to anyone else. Everyone has his own history, his own personality, his own unique set of circumstances that shaped him and placed him where he is today.

I am not everyone. I am, simply, me.

I have my own history that has shaped me, and therefore my progress can only be effectively evaluated by looking at where I have come from.

I am not defined by how far I have yet to go, nor am I compared to the success of others. No one is better than anyone. We are merely, different.

Everyone has his own path to run. Comparing my journey to someone else's will lead only to arrogance or discouragement. The best thing I can do for myself is to keep my gaze on my own path, evaluating my progress only by how far I, myself, have come.

And I extend the same courtesy to others, allowing them the freedom to walk their own paths at their own pace, knowing that there is no universal measuring stick, that progress can only be gauged by how far one has come.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. How far have I come in my personal journey?
  2. What lets me know that I have made progress?
  3. Am I using anyone else's journey to try to evaluate my own progression?
