I am losing weight for me, because I love me.
My decision to lose weight is a choice, not an obligation. I am choosing to make my well-being a priority.
I have made this choice because I care about myself. No one is forcing this decision on me - and I can stop at any time - but I choose to continue because I am looking forward to the reward of a slimmer and more energized me.
I do not see my weight loss plan as deprivation. I view it as an investment that I know will lead to greater good, to a level of satisfaction with myself and my life that food can never give me.
I am choosing to fill my body with good foods that promote a healthy life. I am choosing to make time to exercise. I make these choices because I know they are what I need to be healthy and whole.
I treat myself as kindly as I would a cherished friend. If I invite a dear friend into my home, I do not serve her junk and neither do I deny her the healthy food she needs to feel nourished and satisfied. The food I set in front of her is prepared out of love and a desire for her contentment.
I treat myself with the same amount of consideration and respect, planning, cooking and eating as my own honored guest.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- Do I see my weight loss as a choice or an obligation?
- In what ways do I honor my body?
- In what ways do I need to improve the way I treat my body?
