In this video Dr. Erika talks about why you should not use balsamic vinegar. Many people believe that this is a healthy product, but the fact of the matter is that the taste of the vinegar is caused by bacteria. When the bacteria eat away at the properties, the result is that the vinegar has a lot of sugar in it, which is not good for you.
When you stop eating balsamic vinegar you will feel better, in the opinion of the doctor. She suggests using lemon or even cider vinegar as a replacement for balsamic vinegar.

What Dr Erika is not mentioning is that caramel and sugar are only added to the very poor quality balsamic vinegars to compensate for the lenghty maturation required to produce the real balsamic vinegar. So you can buy cheap balsamic vinegar in the supermarket, but it is not a real product, but a fake sugar-loaded condiment, so, sadly, I guess you get what you pay for… the REAL balsamic vinegar is only produced in Modena, Italy, so check your labels.
