The Gardasil Vaccine Video
Dr. Erika takes the time to discuss the somewhat new vaccine Gardasil. This is a vaccine that has been out for not quite two years and is meant to protect against certain strains of HPV, which is known to cause cancerous conditions in and around the cervix of women.
Dr. Erika talks about the dangers of this vaccine because it is so new, it does not have a long history, it was not tested for long, and all of the trials done on it were not all inclusive. Dr. Erika suggests holding off on giving this vaccine to all girls and just giving the vaccine some time to prove or disprove its own safety before we vaccinate our daughters.
Her advice is to make sure that our daughters practice safe sex and have regular pap smears to avoid cervical cancer.
