by Rachel Johnson on February 3rd, 2009

This video explores the side effects of chewing gum.  Many people assume that chewing gum is harmless, but it actually works to create an unnecessary acidic environment in your stomach which can cause stomach upset.  While chewing gum is mindless for most people, it may be causing a lot of the symptoms you have complained to your doctor about in the past.

Key Points from this Video:

  • Chewing gum causes your stomach to make acid.
  • When you chew gum your body thinks you are eating.
  • Chewing gum can make you bloated.
  • Chewing gum causes an acidic environment in the stomach.
  • Chewing gum upsets the biological occurrence in your body.

Overall Rating (1-5): 4

Entertainment Rating (1-5): 4
Can help people understand why they may feel bad all the time, if they are constant gum chewers.  Will have a lot of people tossing out their gum.
