Grooming Your Dog Video

by Rachel Johnson on April 19th, 2009

In this video the host talks about bathing your dog. Many people dread having to groom their dog in any way, let alone bathing them.  How often you need to bathe your dog really depends on the breed.  If you have a dog that requires a hair cut you may just want to take them to the groomer where they can be professionally groomed at least four times a year.

Some breeds will need to be bathed and groomed more often, as much as every six to eight weeks.  You should talk to your groomer and get on a schedule with them so grooming can occur regularly.  Bathing is good for a dog at least four times a year and if you have a lab or a golden or other breeds that don’t require hair cutting you can do much of this at home.

Key Points from this Video:

  • Every dog needs a bath four times a year.
  • Labs need bath once a year.
  • Bathing removes loose skin.
  • Bathing moisturizes the skin.
  • You can do a lot of the grooming at home.
