Alphabet Affirmations: Positive Affirmations for Children by Bunny Hull, Synthia Saint James
Book Review
Created for children ages four to eight, this collection of affirmations is a truly unique teaching tool. The set features both a book and a tape to make the lessons not only visual but also something that can be heard to allow for the positive thoughts to really be taken in and remembered by the students who are using them. This set could easily be used by librarians, teachers, and even counselors.
This book is essentially an alliterated alphabet but it is presented in a new and interesting format. The book comes with a sing along story and an activity book that introduces positive thoughts, self affirmations, and bouncy rhythms that really pull it all together into a tool that will be appreciated by the teacher as well as the student. Each letter has an affirmations assigned to it such as “H” is for helping, “I” is for intelligent, “J” is for joy, and so on. This teaching tool is not only a great way to boost self esteem, but also to reinforce what is already known or being learned with the alphabet.
This book is recommended for people who are:
- Librarians
- Teachers
- Counselors
- Looking to boost the self esteem of children
- Parents
The top 3 reasons you may enjoy this book:
- Uses the alphabet to boost self esteem
- Brightly colored pictures and activities
- Catchy tunes on the accompanying tape
Sincere thanks and appreciation goes out to Rachel Johnson for this in-depth book review!
