Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff (and it’s all small stuff) by Richard Carlson
Book Review
Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff–and it’s all small stuff (Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff Series)
This is perhaps one of the most well known self-help or stress management guides on the market today. Richard Carlson wrote this book seemingly for the public at large as it addresses the way that we all seem to get carried away with stress and anger when there is so much in our lives to be happy, excited, and appreciative about.
In Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff Carlson walks the reader through 100 meditations that remind us that nothing in life is worth getting worked up about. The book teaches the reader how to keep emotions, namely stress and anger, in check so that we can see how many good things we really have going for us in this life. Carlson contends that if we keep the negative emotions in check we will appreciate the people and experiences in life for the miracles that they really are and we’ll have better health, relationships, and more.
Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff should be considered mandatory reading by everyone who has ever been stressed out or angry, so it should be read by everyone!
