The Traveler’s Gift: Seven Decisions that Determine Personal Success by Andy Andrews
Book Review
The Traveler’s Gift: Seven Decisions that Determine Personal Success
This is perhaps the most original of all of the self-help books on the market today as it combines the self-help element with fiction. Andy Andrews introduces us to the main character in his story, David Ponder.
David Ponder is down on his luck as he has lost his job and with no income to support his family he is distraught. After a car accident the main character is transported to seven points in history and is met by historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln, Ann Frank, King Solomon, and more. Each of these figures, there are seven of them, share with David Ponder the seven key decisions that are required for personal success. When the journey was complete David Ponder regains consciousness and he finds he is holding letters given to him by the historical figures. The figures each wrote letters of a self-help nature giving the character the support he needs to achieve personal success.
This is an outstanding book, not because of an overly involved story line, but because of its profound message. It is Christian in nature, but not so much so that all readers wouldn’t get something from his message. Truly a great read.
This book is recommended for people who are:
- Down on their luck
- Looking for something unique
- Willing to read fiction
- In search of tips that will help them become successful
- Depressed
The top 3 reasons you may enjoy this book:
- It’s fictional
- Uplifting message
- Short but sweet in nature
Sincere thanks and appreciation goes out to Rachel Johnson for this in-depth book review!
